After years and years of saying, “I’m too busy right now,” I finally got off my butt (with some encouragement from my wife) and signed up for a study partner with Partners in Torah.

I haven’t been matched up yet, but now that I’ve actually taken that first step I’m real excited about getting started.  The woman I did my “interview” with was extremely nice and helpful.  Signing up was an easy and painless experience.

This kind of study program seems like a perfect fit to us in the military, in that we can take it with us wherever we go.  Now that I’m part of the club, I was wondering if there is anyone else here who is (or has ever) studied with Partners in Torah.  I’ve only heard good things about the program from my civvie frineds, but I’d like to hear what other military types think of it.

For those of you who don’t know much about Partners in Torah, I wanted to give some info.  It is basically a way to have personalized Jewish learning once a week.  You get a study partner who calls you once a week to study whatever you want to learn more about.  You can choose to learn about a particular aspect of Judaism such as prayer or Shabbat or you can study the weekly parsha.  Your partner is matched to you and they try to find someone who is similar - like close in age and either single/married/parent, etc.  Then they study with you at your level.  It seems like a great idea and I am sure Jason and I will keep you all posted on how we like it.

Well, it seems like it’s a small world out there!  Aside from being the Jewish Prime Vendor for the Military, we are also the Official Judaica Supplier for Partners in Torah!

All mentors and students recieve a ‘welcome kit’ with a 20% Discount card to be used at our store when ordering Books.  Other Judaica items are also discounted.
