Shalom, I am about to go through the S.E.R.E. course. I am nervous about eating snakes. I would probably eat it one time just to pass the course or can I skip that part due to keeping kosher law.

I don’t think Moses told our people to eat snakes during the 40 years journey of wandering in the desert.

I also think that in a real life situation. I think it is wise to avoid snakes entirely in a real life situation. I highly doubt snakes are kosher to eat ?

What makes you think you’ll have to eat snake? You dont have to eat what you dont want. But I’m pretty sure you’ll be hungry enough to eat anything when the time comes. ; )

I have a friend here at West Point who went through it this summer he may have some tips to help you, I know he did not keep kosher there but he still might be able to help you do it there. Tell me how it works it out, I heard it is great training and if we can work the kosher part out I would love to go as well.
