I find this actually quite interesting in my short experience in the army I have found that most Jews are reform but there are a few orthodox and more conservative Jews in the army as well. I personally am at a post were the chaplain is orthodox, but he runs a very open service, he does most of it in English and does not use a mechitza (exasperation between the genders). While this might make the vast majority of people comfortable it is not how I was personally raised but in the Interest of the community I do not run around tring to break apart the community into different factions. In the US military we are few and far between and to break us part further is a very bad idea. It would behoove us try and stick together and realize not every time will we get the service how we like it. From my experiences in the army 90% of the time a service will be run in a reform or egalitarian style to complain you don’t get your way 100% of the time is ridiculous and in fact makes you the one putting your ways upon others. count your blessings you can leave post for a religious service of your liking at all, I cant ... so before you complain maybe see what good you have hey the service may not be what you are used to but everyone is still your brother, and you get to experience a bit more of your roots and traditions.

The horse is dead?  I could swear the lying piece of dog food is haunting us.  WOW!!
I can understand closing a line, but leaving it up without the replies being easily seen smacks of yellow journalism.
You might want to check with the Garrison Chaplain’s office at Hood to get the facts. I know the site is about Jews in Green, so please make sure that you are balanced--Larry’s group is off the base-that pretty much means that he cannot be the lay leader of the Hood congregation.
I am not even going to start on Goldstrum--again, check the facts-and someone needs to learn to spell.
I am tired and feel like being a bit witchy, so I had better end this soon.  So......
HERE IS THE WHOLE THING SO IT IS EASY TO UNDERSTAND
There are two official sets of services in the Killeen area:  Fort Hood-not run by Goldstrum, baruch Hashem, and a newly formed Reform Congregation-Larry Cohen, lay leader of THIS group.  I wish both groups every possible blessing.  I am at the point where I am getting really tired of the Bull droppings, so I expect the flipping adults involved to start behaving like grown-ups
