Contacting Jewish Chaplains Prior to Enlisting

I have been looking for a way of contacting Jewish chaplains prior to going through the process of attempting to enlist to get their take on Halacha and service in the US military.  So far I have not been successful.  While I am sure there are alot of Orthodox Jews in the armed services, there really isn’t a substitute for speaking with a Rabbi.  I once tried going through the army chaplain’s website, but whoever I emailed there kept thinking I wanted to become a Rabbi and enlist through the chaplaincy corps.

You might want to contact Chaplain Goldstein (COL) an Orthodox Rabbi (Lubavitch).  He has been on active duty and can tell you the ‘ins’ and ‘outs’.

I believe he is also the chaplain for the NYS Prison systems and lives in Brooklyn (Crown Heights).

I actually met with him yesterday.

Well, now I have a name, but Goldstein’s in Brooklyn are a dime a dozen.  Does he have an email address that can be used for non-official, low priority matters such as my questions?

Contact me privately by email and I will give you Goldtstein’s email.
