Iam Jaap Vermeer from The Netherlands and doing research to Jews in the RAF and USAAF
who were flying in WWII by both Airforces.On Easter we will drive a memorial tour with WWII
Military vehicles to a crashsite were the crew of Wellington HE-702 off 199 (RAF)Squadron was going down.The pilot of this aircraft,Sgt.Leonard Waldorf,age 20 was KIA and he was a Jew.
Every year we drive to this crashsite and lay down flowers on this Memorial.

On the 2nd of November 1944,a P-51D Mustang from 355 FG/354 FS was crashed near Putten,Holland.The pilot,Albert A.Zimmerman was evaded and helped by brave Dutch Resistance.
They told me ,Zimmerman was a Jew,and must be kept for the Germans.Zimmerman evaded/
escaped and was later a L/Col.Ret.USAF.The nickname of his P-51D was Pittsburgh Smoker.
He maybe came from Pittsburgh,P.A.USA.
Now Iam looking for information about Zimmerman,and his time serving in WWII and in the USAF
